Eight Years

After almost eight years, a memorial stone for Nadine has found it’s way to the Requardt’s family gravesite in Münsingen. I do not know anything about why this took so long, but now it’s finally done.

Eight years also mean that I’m longer without Nadine now than I was with her. I did not do the exact maths, but the turn must have happened around November.  Honestly speaking,  I do not know what do with that fact emotionally – I was just realizing it.

As Nadine’s birthday on the 25th of January is a Saturday this year, our annual meeting at the Waldfriedhof is going to take place on this day at 2 pm. As usual, we will change locations towards the Cafe Schurr in Stuttgart-Heslach after about one hour. Feel free to join us wherever you like to.

+++ Update +++
Everything is going to happen one hour earlier on Saturday: We meet at the tree at 1 p.m. and will move on to the coffee house at 2 p.m.

Seven Years

After almost seven years, the little hill at the place where Nadine’s urn was put into the soil, has completely disappeared. If you want to spot it exactly, you need to know that is located one and a half meters straight from her nameplate on the tree. The gardeners of the Waldfriedhof had moved that plate slightly to the left some time this year in order to create one more grave on the right hand side. I didn’t like this at all, brought some tools around and put it back to where it belongs.

If you want to have a look by yourself, please feel free to join us for our annual meeting on January 28th. That sunday is the seventh anniversary of Nadine’s death and me and her family will meet at the gravesite at 2 p.m. As usual, we will move on to the Cafe Schurr in Stuttgart-Heslach arond 3 p.m.

Six Years

In her christmas letter, an old friend of Nadine expressed her wish to meet and share memories. Well, after a break of two years, the Requardt family and me can offer this to at least those of you who live nearby Stuttgart: thanks to the more relaxed corona situation, we can revive our custom of meeting at the Waldfiedhof!

We are going to meet at Nadine’s tree on January 28th, the sixth anniversary of her passing, at 2 p.m. Later on, we will continue at Cafe Schurr, a traditional coffee house in the south of the city. Please feel free to join us for one or both events.
